What to Expect

Christ the King Lutheran is a traditional church in many ways.  At worship we follow a liturgy, sing hymns, and do our fair share of standing and sitting.  We’re a faithful and generous people who like to laugh and have fun.  The life of our congregation centers on worship, gathering together for growth and support, and sharing our resources of time and money with those in our community and world who need them most.  In all that we do we seek to honor God and serve our neighbor.

  • What about kids? – Kids are valuable partners with us in ministry here at Christ the King Lutheran.  There are several opportunities for kids to have fun and grow in Christ such as Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Confirmation Class.  Kids are welcome in worship – in fact we encourage parents to include kids in worship.  And it’s ok if they make some noise (that’s what kids do!).  Busy Bags are filled with coloring pages and available to kids during worship… look for them at the entrance to the sanctuary.
  • Parking – Our parking lot is easy to find with plenty of room!  The main entrance to the church is found on the Durston side of the building.  You can also enter through the doors on the north side of the building (off of Flanders Mill Road).
  • Clothing Expectations – You’ll find that many folks at Christ the King Lutheran come in casual clothes and sometimes shorts and t-shirts!  Others continue the tradition of “Sunday Best,” but the only requirement is that you feel comfortable.  Come as you are, you are always welcome!
  • Getting Connected – If you are visiting Christ the King Lutheran for the first time, be sure and fill out the information sheet found on the perforated edge of the weekly announcement sheet, tear off and place it in the offering plate.  We also ask that you introduce yourself to the pastor.  We’ll help you get connected with others who may share your interests.
